Josh has been fishing in Michigan since he was 5 years old.  His stepfather introduced him into fishing on beautiful Lake Huron in the late 70’s chasing salmon and steelhead.  With a donut in one hand and a cup of hot chocolate in the other, that 5 year old could not have been sicker, but still fished.

Decades later that same boy (he has yet to grow up) has been a first mate on a charter boat on Lake Michigan for 7 years and began river guiding on the Big Manistee 4 years ago. Now managing the shop at the Pere Marquette River Lodge, Josh has soaked up information over the last 2 years from top guides in the country such as Jac Ford, Tommy Lynch, and Brad Turner. And by talking with entomologist guru’s John Miller and Dick Pobst, Josh has been able to take his passion for fishing to the next level.    Josh’s laid back and easy going approach makes him a great choice for beginners and kids. This guy fishes to live and lives to fish.
